Khornehusker RTT, lessons learned..

Last month I attended the Khornehusker RTT in Omaha, NE. It was a great RTT with 24 people attending. My space marines were not ready with the new toys of the codex, but I thought I could push through a vehicle heavy, 5th edition list.   I was wrong, but all was not lost. I learned several lessons and did pull some good units out of that list for future use.

 

 

CotN List Final Thoughts: Assault Arrmies in 6th

Con of the North is long over, and it is time to get my final thoughts on my list and games down on paper so to speak. I went with a drop pod/spearhead style army and turned in a 3-0 performance. I was in top running but 2 daemon armies edged me out with better painting and perfect battle points.

I took a straight Space Marine list with no fortifications. I had 3 units in drop pods and a tank force to thrust into their center. Out of the 38 players at CotN, many were playing gunline infantry armies behind an aegis defence line. While this is what I planned for, how games played out were not as planned.

Bugeater Practice

Looks like I will get some practice games in today. I'm hoping to try a modified list. I'm thinking of running Lysander and Vulcan in my 1850.

Mage Con Lists and Bugeater GT Decisions!

This week is full of painting again, but not the project I was working on. This weekend I'm off to MageCon Spring in Sioux City for a 2000 RTT on Saturday and a Apoc game of 40k I'm running on Sunday. For the RTT, I have decided to play Crimson Fists and my Vulcan "counts as" list. I have also decided that the 5000 points of Fists is not enough and I need to paint up a command squad! We all like to torture ourselves don't we.... So read on and check out my list thoughts, I also had to make a big decision regarding Bugeater too.....

Sister's Of Battle List Building

As I have been focusing more on my SoB and getting them repainted, I have also been toying in my head with different builds. Now there are not alot of options for Sisters, but there are a few I think are getting over looked.

SM Vulcan List for CotN

I decided to take a break from painting my Crimson Fists for a few minutes and thought I would throw my list for Con of the North up for review. Con of the North is a three game classic RTT style tournament with super beautiful terrain and armies to match.

So my list is made and the army is all painted for a 2000 point rtt up in Minneapolis this Saturday. I'm trying something new and this will be my first list with-out Pedro.

Sisters of Battle: First Blood





This last Sunday I headed over to a friends house for a couple games of 40k. I really wanted to try out the SoB codex and he wanted to play against it too. We also decided to use the new battle missions for the SoB out of the dreadfleet WD.

This Sunday I'm taking the sisters of battle to the table once again. This will be my first game with them since the new rules. I spent some time writing up my list and I'm liking so far how they are looking. More models and more tank!

This week I spent too many hours on army builder. I need to come up with a final list for the RTT in Omaha next month. I have a theme I like and I just need to tweak it a little.

Mage Con RTT prep. 1750 Fists

This Saturday is the RTT at Mage Con, a local con in my area. Their is no awards and it is a pretty laid back tournament. I'm going to run a mixed marine list similar to my Bugeater GT list.

2000pt WD Sisters of Battle: "Boys and Toys" List

It has been finally completed. The master piece work of art that my fellow Sisters of Battle get stuck with for the foreseeable future. That's right, the White Dwarf codex is complete. After reading it, I can see it was not the fully operational death star we all hoped for. Heck it wasn't even better than the old codex in my opinion.

Project Khornefield

Its official! Project Khornefield has begone with the first purchase. Army list looks good and the price breakdown looks surprisingly cheap for a 40k army..

Ard Boys List thoughts.

Here is the list I have been tossing around for Ard Boys this year. Looks like there will be lots of horde players, so I'm banking on Vulcan to lead the way!!

Time; How it affects your build and playstyle.

Time is always moving forward. We are always playing against time in a tournament. How does time influence how you build your list? Does it even influence your list? Can time change how we are playing the game?

The "Pedro Bubble" list, what is it?

The Pedro Bubble list, you have probably never heard of it. I'm not surprised, since Pedro is looked at as the second or third best choice for special characters in the space marine codex. Most would rank Vulcan and even Lysander ahead of the Crimson Fist's chapter master. What people over look is Pedro's +1 attack bubble and what it can do to certain units.

Ard Boyz List Theory: Dual Landraiders

I'm sitting here tonight fleshing out my Ard Boyz list for next month. Right now I would like to run a dual Landraider list. I have a few reasons for wanting to run the "golden eggs".

1500 points of what?

Sunday there is a rtt up in Minneapolis at the former Misty Mountain store. I have thought about going up for it, but it is at a weird point limit, 1500. I don't mind playing 1500, but my Fists are really build for 1750+.

So I have 2 decisions to make, do I go and if so what army do I play. So this article will be about me simply thinking out load.
