Crimson Fists WIP
So I'm working on my Fists, sorry no pics yet, and I need to decide on a color scheme for my sternguard squads and veteran terminators. Here is choice one....
Tradition codex colors with veterans having white helmets. Not sure if I want to stay codex. He is another choice.....

Codex says veterans are white with the sargents having red helmets with a white strip. I like the red helmets with a strip and I think I'm going to go that way for my terminators only. I'll come up with some fluff to explain it. I think I will go with the red for veterans and sargents of the sternguard too. No strip for them. Strips for all the termies though.
I picked up my last speeder and just need to get started on it. The army so far is 1 finished tactical squad, 2nd tactical squad is painted and waiting for arms and bases. One speeder done and waiting for basing. 1 predator is done but waiting on a FW front plate. Pedro Kantor is done. Sargent for sternguard #1 is done. Not in my 2000 point list but done is my LR crusader, and one of my 5 shooty termies is painted and waiting on bases. Working on getting a camera to get some WIP shots soon. Our gaming group is also doing a painting thing in December so that will be nice to throw these up there too.
Tower Games Rtt
Ok, so I'm back from a great tournie in Minneapolis. They ended up having 20 players for the tournament after 6 people backed out for work issues. Still a nice number and more than Omaha ussually gets. I have to say they had the best looking terrain I have seen at a store. Combination of GW terrain and really nice boards. My sister's of battle went 0-1-2, so not a great showing , but I played 3 really tough opponents. All three had different style forces than what gets played around my area, so that was a win. It also gave me problems on how to handle their forces too. Great time, and I can't wait to go up for Con Of The North in Febuary. Also picked up my Dark Eldar codex so I will probably run then there.

Fall of Mankind RTT Minneapolis
Off to Minneapolis tommorrow. Leaving very early in the am so hopefully I get some good sleep tonight. This will probably be my last tournie for a while with my sister's of battle. I'll be picking up my DE codex and will give them a run for a while. Maybe con of the north.... I'l put up battle reports and hopefully get some picks too.

What motivates you?
As I work on my Crimson Fists, I realized this is the most dedicated to painting I have ever been. Add in the bonus that I'm having a blast painting and the army does not seem to be a chore to paint. So what is different this time compared to when I painted my Salamanders, Sister's of Battle or my Dark Eldar? Pod casts, I guess. This army I have gotten into the habit of listening to about 4 different pod casts regularly. Something about a couple of guys taking about 40k and having a good time makes the painting go by and makes it enjoyable too. So here is what I have been listening to.......

the eternal warriors (formerly Dice Like Thunder)

Check them out. Maybe its for you, may it is not.
That's my 2 cents anyways.

Crimsons Fists WIP
I decided way back in 2004 at the Minneapolis GT that my Salamander space marines were just not going to cut it. I was really impressed with the armies there, and really wanted to step up my modeling and do an army the "right" way. Since my painting is only getting mildly better, the fastest and easiest way to improve the look of my army was with molded shoulder pads, forge world doors, and nice scenic bases. I went out and started collecting Fist shoulders and storm blue paint, but Interest faded and dark eldar replaced my need for a 2nd marine army.
Fast forward to 2010. I find myself painting again after a year off of gaming and once again motivated to paint up the Fists. So after some collecting and list building, it had begun. Hopefully in a couple weeks I'll have my new camera and get some work in progress photos up. I'll also post up my army list and my thoughts on why I chose what I did in it too. Stay tuned, there is alot to come.

Here we go.
Ok, so here is my launch into the unknown. I started this blog to basically post up some stories, start some interesting debates, and have a place to do some WIP. Hope you enjoy what you find, and comments are always welcome.
