Crimson Fist Terminators/Sternguard

I'm still not sure what color scheme to use for my sternguard. I have four different choices. The first one is all white helmets. The second choice is all red helmets. The third is all white for basic squad and red for the sargent. The last choice is the one I think I will use for my terminator squads. It is a red helmet with a white stripe down the middle. Here is a WIP shot of my terminator and also a WIP shot of a couple sargents. The left one is a tactical squad sargent and the right is a sternguard sargent.

Crimson Fists Landraider Crusader Invictus WIP

I finally got my new camera today so here are some shots of my Landraider Crusader I painted up. There are a few details I'm still working on, but I have put it aside as it is not part of my final 2000 point list. Please bear with me as I learn to take pictures as it is not as easy as one would think to get good ones.

I went with a stormbolter and not a multimelta since I figured it would be an anti-infantry tank. I am working on a reguluar terminator squad for the raider and will post pics up in the following days.

I love the forgeworld doors and I probably will not do a tank with out them in the future. I need to work on the highlighting and some shading but it is very tabletop ready.

Merry Christmas and Happy new year

Not much going on here except the normal Christmas stuff with relatives. I did order and receive Galaxy in Flames, Flight of the Einstein, and Fulgrim. Thank you Amazon... I also got Decent of Angels for a present. Of course I went and read Galaxy, Flight, and Fulgrim in a span of 3 days. I love how the stories are all linked and you get to see different points of view from different characters in the same event. At first I thought Galaxy in Flames and Flight of the Einstein were the better of the books but Fulgrims ending and the way it showed the fall of the primarch was awesome. I would love to see a book with Angron's point of view of Isstavan III, and why he turned. Still so many questions I have left to answer that I'm sure will be in later books. I totally want to do a couple heresy squads of the loyalist defenders on Isstavan III. A squad of Lunar Wolves and Emperor's Children. Maybe a World Eater squad.

Hopefully Santa Claus was good to everybody. This is the first year I had put gaming items on my Christmas lists and it paid off. I scored a book from the Horus Heresy series which I will enjoy reading and best of all.....wait for it.........

A Warstore Gift certificate...Woot!!!

So Happy New Year to all, and here's to getting new armies painted new friends made.

Horus Rising

I went out and ordered the first book. Thank you Amazon.com. I was pretty pumped since I had reread Rynn's World not to long before. I was not disapointed. I really enjoyed this book. Maybe I just like 40k novels. This one was pretty cool, and even if it was lite on the fighting compared to other BL books, it kept me reading nonstop. It was good enought to get me to order False Gods before I had even finished.

So now I'm half way through False Gods and I'm blown away. The fight on Davin's moon was so cool and nurgley. Time to get the next 3 books coming. I feel like such a noob just now starting this series.

Total Roster Cost: 2000

So I wanted to run Pedro being Crimson Fists. I liked the idea of sternguard. They are over priced, but with Pedro's extra attack he grants, I think they could hold their own and special ammo makes them intriguing. This army will function mainly as a gun line but will have Mobile elements in it. Preds and speeders are there for anti tank and the 4 heavy bolter Razors are anti horde. I have a possible 8 scoring units with combat tactics.

The Ironclad is a gamble. My plan is to throw him onto objectives in my enemies deployment zone. I will also use the Speeders to pressure and advancing enemy elements. The Vindi will deploy on one flank and threaten any enemy flankers.

Well thats the list and some of my thinking behind the choices. What do you think?
